The front wheel bearing is a hub and bearing assembly. To remove you will.... 1. Remove the tire 2. Remove the axle nut. You can put a punch in the fins of the rotor to keep the assembly from turning while you rmove the nut. You can can do the same thing when you torque the axle nut. 3. Remove the caliper and rotor. 4. Unplug the abs sensor if equipped. 5. Remove the three bolts that hold the hub to the knuckle. 6. Rmove the hub. If you need torque specs let me know and i'll get them for you. It is absolutely critical that you torque the axle nut to the proper spec!

On hot days my 2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD gets a front end shimmy and the front brakes are overheating as they seem to be applying themselves. Any thoughts?

calipers sticking ,,, brakes shake because the rotors warp from the heat, also check your wheel bearings as they are problematic in these gm trucks ,, price of wheel bearings are way cheaper online rather than any parts store

I installed a front wheel bearing kit in my 2003 GMC now the ABS WARNING SIGNAL COMES ON AND STAYS ON

Double check to make sure the abs harness from the new wheel bearing is plugged in. If it is unplug it and make sure the pins in the other connector are not bent. To very common problems that are quick to check out.

Front end makes noice when turning while engaged in 4 wheel drive

check front axle shafts cv joints one might be bad. also if you turn on a dry surface when 4x4 engaged it will bind and make noise. Jack front of truck up and try to wiggle wheel up,down all around as you may also have a bad wheel hub bearing that is clunking when turning.

I have a 1994 GMC K1500 Sierra :5.7L 350CI V8 and I have a worn front wheel bearing and I took the hub off and saw that the inner bearing is in peices, Now I cant find where to find the bearing,, All I can...

the bearing hub is a pre-assembled unit it has to be pressed together and the bearings have to be preloaded that is why you can only buy the hub assy. and it a whole lot easier to replace then the old 4X4 ft. wheel bearings.HAVE FUN

Removed the 4wheel drive unit and kept it out ,installed front wheel bearing and it fell off

The front axles hold the wheel bearings together. You could take the axles apart and just put the outer part of the axle in and it should work.
