Ok. 2003 ford explorer sport trac. Died on the way home. Myself and my mechanic cannot figure out what the issue is. We have spark. And fuel. The cam sensor doesn't seem to have power. It's trying...

First, check the fuel pump safety shut off switch, you can check that first, then check fuel pump, filter and fuel pressure regulator and fuel related fuses and relays. Next, remove the O2 sensors and just hang them on a piece of wire out of the way...now try starting the vehicle, if it starts, get the catalytic converter checked for blockage...other checks are
Pick-up coil or fuel pump control module....cheers

2003 Ford sport trac won't start when the engine is extremely hot. The starter turns the engine but will not run. Would have to wait till it cools down and it will start.

Make sure you don't have an OVERHEATING problem. Engine damage is sure to occur if it's running too hot. don-ohio

I have a 2007 ford explorer sport. The truck runs fine but as of recently it would not start. after getting a jump once it started right up but then when turned off again it did the same thing. headlights...

try cleaning the battery posts first.

Just got through using my 2002 ford explorer sports trac. a few minutes later I went to start it and it cranked and started running rough. I turned it off, and not it wont start at all. It turns over but...

The EGR valve may be stuck and dirty.........I would change it out if a little cleaner spray works..Hope this helps.

2003 sport trac turned over started...died will not restart.

Could be bad altenator, voltage regulator, or battery. If the check engine light is on, it is most likely a bad sensor. The car will have to be put on scanner to find out exact reason light is on.

2003 Sport track with 250,000 highway miles. Engine rattles like a diesel when you first start it. Then it goes away in 5-10 seconds, then runs fine. Oil has been change faithfully over the years.

next time you change the oil use some teflon oil or additive, this should quiet the old girl down.

Have someone help you do the following. Turn on the vehicle,before it dies,quickly tap the idle air control valve with a wrench or anything you have. If the engine does not die after you tap the IAC,this means that the IAC is faulty. The IAC is under the plastic plate that is behind the throttle body.

Also check the cank sensor. alot of times iac will only kill the car if given gas. crank sensor when it first starts going out will not set an engine code
