Have you checked for spark or fuel pressure? Do you have the wires on in the right order? When you crank it can you hear the engine backfiring?

Hi, Were the parts replaced due to a no start condition? Is there a trouble code stored in the PCM or an engine light on? How many miles are on the truck?

Have you checked base fuel pressure at the injectors ?
Base fuel pressure when cranking or at idle should be at least 60psi or more.

98 jimmy starts... but then dies and will not start back up untill later, changed fuel filter

Have you checked your fuel pressure. You may have a bad fuel pump. If you have good fuel pressure take a good look at your cap and rotor. 4.3 liters have a notorious cap and rotor problem along with a coil wire issue. The coil wire can rub on the firewall or other places and cause you problems. I would start with checking your fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge.

I have a 1997 gmc jimmy and it is hard to start when it is cold i think its a choke problem.

Hello,
The choke on your vehicle is a computer controled fuel system. It is usually a fuel pump but sometimes a Distributor cap and rotor problem. I would first check the distributor cap and rotor. Look for white corrosion in the cap and in the bottom of the distributor. If you see the corrosion in the bottom of the distributor clean it out with brake cleaner. The Coil wire some times fails causing a hard start situation. I suggest checking these things before doing any thing with the fuel pump. I would also replace the fuel filter and spark plugs if you do end up replacing the cap and rotor.

I hope this helps.

1987 gmc jimmy wont start

yea you have no fuel and sound like a bad harness and the gm's are know for there fuel pump harness's! did you change it when you changed the pump? there is a lose connection somewhere in the fuel delivery system and it's pretty simply! i would check the fuel pump relay on the left hand side of the engine compartment and maybe even put power to the pump at the relay position "b" on the fuel pump relay harness and there should be a one pin connector to put power to also connected to the same position on the relay "b" the wire should be tan and white! good luck

Spark after i changed distributor cap but wont start

sounds like you haven't indexed the rotor correctly or the cap isn't seated correctly.  Did you replace the plug wires correctly?  Dis you bump the position of the distributor?

97 jimmy wont start

If it starts with starting fluid, this means the firing and electrical is fine, however, its not getting fuel. I suggest trying the fuel filter first, but, its probably going to be the fuel pump.
