Are you using Dexcool, or have you replaced the coolant with standard Green antifreeze? If you replaced the Dexcool with standard green antifreeze, the low coolant indicator may give false readings. An extremely dirty reservoir bottle can cause the same problem.

I have a 95 grand am se 2.3 liter the other day my low coolant light came om i pulled over emediatley it was low i filled it and have been checking every time i go anywhere it is full and my low coolant...

You may have to reset it by putting in a code. You can find the code in your owners manual. In our Grand Am we have to reset the Check Oil light after we change the oil. For the oil light it is something like press the gas peddle in 5 times within 30 seconds....something like that. Good luck

Low coolant light stays on and coolant level is not low

Many times vehicles have a coolant sensor mounted on the radiator that goes bad allowing the low coolant light to stay lit changing this sensor usually takes care of the light also make sure the wires running to the sensor are not shorted or broke.

I have a 1997 buick skylark and my low coolant light is on so i bought a gallon of the local advance autos 50 50 and filled the resevor let the car run 5 min with cap off level stayed the same am i doing...

Are you sure the coolant is still low in the bottle. The coolant sensor thats in the bottle has a float that can stick. If it sticks the low coolant light will stay on even if the coolant level is right. Try tapping on the coolant reservoir bottle in the area where the electrical wire enters it. Not too hard. If that is the porblem the light should reset.

Low Coolant light stays on

Check you coolant resevoir. The low coolant switch is located in the resevoir so if it is low on coolant there, the light will come on. If it is full, it could be that the switch is stuck due to gunk build up in the resevoir. Hope this helps you out

01 mercury sable traction control & low coolant lights stay on.

check for something stuck in the wheels and as for the coolant light get the car running and up to warm temp and start adding coolant to the reserviour bottle until it is up to hot level because there maybe a bubble in the line but also if might be a bad switch in the reservior bottle itself
