The code you have is because you have a misfire on cylinder number 5 since you have already changed all the plugs and wires only two other possible causes either injector number five or a bad valve on that cylinder while idling put a piece of paper at the tail pipe if paper gets sucked back against pipe its a bad valve if not i would go after the injector..good luck hope this helps you.

Make sure car is cold. Use socket wrench and spark plug socket to remove old plugs. Add new plugs, and then put wires back.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mazda millenia 2000 2.3L S, is shaking while accelerating and very bedly shaking after rain

Could be weak spark plug wires or cap and coil. Electricity will jump to ground instead of thru the spark plugs if the wires are wet.

2001 Mazda Milleniacheck engine light came on. .car is running rough and hesitates while moving. codes says misfire on cylinder 6. Had tune up. put in new distrutor cap. Still drives really bad. . ....

check all spark plug wires and replace. age and wear and tear will cause them to crack and therefore create the misfire in your cylinder causing the engine to run rough

We have 80,000 miles on our 2000 Millenia with the following problem, 1.Flashing engine light, 2.Runs a little rough at idle, 3.The steering doesn't feel right..not stable or hunts?

The flashing light and rough engine means a spark plug(s) misfire. I've had that issue before. The steering could be a few things. The ball joint or wheel bearing might be broken or the axle could be broken. I replaced my wheel bearing (pot hole) and the steering was fine. However, I also had to replace my steering rack prior to that incident.

Engine skipping/misfiring, engine light flashing

Drive it into a dark place, or wait till dark. When it's running poorly, see if you can see any spark flying around. It sounds like plug wires.

Check engine light blinking and a sound like air coming from the engine area

I've had the same problem with my 1999 Mazda Protege, 1.6L, Automatic.

The problem was a damaged spark plug, resulting in a loss of compression in one of the cylinders.

Solution: replace all spark plugs and make sure wires are in good condition. I recommend NGK Platinum.
