My saturn ion 3 has noise like clicking and also can be felt thru steering wheel. performance and handling

Could be seized(worn) front strut bearing, or worn bearing, joint in steering column

My guess is bad cv joints and since ur asking I'm guessing it might be a challenge for u to fix. Check out YouTube.com for 2004 Saturn cv joint replacement.

could have electronic steering wheel code .have code retrieve. if your steering is a electronic one. if it with power steering with oil it's different.

You buy a 10 year old car that isn't even made anymore
and know it has issues

Do you not have a repair shop you use for many years that has
been around for decades

You need a shop to go thru the entire car & fix ALL problems
regardless of cost,not us guessing at things

Not to get up to speed could be a gas filter ,most likely worn
out & blocked exhaust converter & I could write a book

All it's issues can be diagnosed & you should spend about $1500
if ALL problems are properly tested & resolved

Now you got the entire suspension,all fluids,brakes,tires & on & on

When I buy any vehicle I put it on stands for 3 weeks min & go thru it

On a new car i spend a week a year going thru the entire car

I take brakes apart every year

I check all data every 4 months with professional scan tool software

• You have an electronic power steering system.

• Your power steering module, steering assist motor and the steering sensor could all be problems. You will have to have a scan performed to see what the exact problem is. There is no other way.

• The power steering aides you in turning the wheel. When the light comes on there is a malfunction and this is why it is hard to turn the wheel, because the steering assistance of the power steering is gone at that time. Turning the car off just temporarily resets the PCM.

Either your steering gear failed or the connection joint between the steering wheel and steering rack input has broken. Since you have turned the wheel around in such a way, the clock spring for the air bag will also need to be replaced or you can have accidental airbag deployment or it can fail to deploy in a wreck.

most likely a front wheel hub bearing. You have to remove the bearing from the steering spindle and replace it.

think you are being given the run around here ,no power steering
?? have a look under the bonnet for a belt driven pump or an electric one

I have had that problem with my wifes car,i called a mobile repair guy to come out and tighten something in the steering column,cost me about $50

Sounds Like A Wheel Bearing Has Failed. ISOLATE it & Replace it
