The brake switch is a pressure switch mounted on the brake pedal, master cyclinder output which on pressure will contact and switch the brake lights ON.
So if the brake switch is defective then it must be replaced, check for wiring leads, the ground connection of the brake light assembly.

it sounds like the power door lock motor is bad and will have to be replaced. if you don`t want to replace it with a new motor the only other thing to do is try and get a good used one from a wrecking yard.

2000 s-500 mercedes won't shift from park to drive [email protected].
I have S500 2002 and it seems the car when in drive is stuck ina lower gear. The techtronic shifter will not go into any other gears but neutral and park. car seems like its in low 2 or 3 gear def not drive. car revs a lot higher. also recently had ESM shifter replaced/rebuilt

Fuse schedule 2000 mercedes s500
It should be in the Black fuse box next to the Brake Booster. Open the lid, under it you willl see the diagram of fuses to replace. Good luck.

I cannot shift from park on my 2000 S500 Mercedes
you need to have your car scanned for codes. in the mean time take a flat screwdriver and insert it in the slot on the shifter console and release the shift lock. this should allow you to manually shift the vehicle. Your owners manual should tell you about this feature.

Probably short on AC gas , as if law on AC gas the compressor would not work as a compressor protection mode. Check if AC gas is low and pressure test for leaks
