2002 neon trans pressure swithc code P08884

Drove thru water 3 days ago and the car (auto trans) wouldn't go. I reved it up and the trans kicked in but had a whining shound. Drove it slipping to get it home. I get the general P0700, but also, P0884 (trans pressure sensor malfunction), and also a P0992. Where is this pressure swt. located.? I can clear the codes, Shift to low and slowly rev engine. The car will move to 15-20 mph (1500-2000 rpm) then drop out. I have disconnected 3 trans electrical connectors and cleaned them with an electrical contact spray, but no help. Is the tranny shot or is it a part problem?

You might just need a new sensor im not sure of the exact location of it though but i do know on most dodge vehicles and definatly neons that whenever a trans code is comming up the car will go into a "saftey mode'' where the car wont get full power, this is to basically baby the engine and trans untill you get it to a mechanic. I would recomend when taking it to the dealer to have it looked at put the car in third gear instead of drive and take it easy on the gas

98 Ford F150 w/4.6l Wont start. Hear fuel pump click. Have pressure on fuel rail. Pulled #1 plug from head and plugged back into wire. Grounded plug and cranked. No spark. Changed wires 4 and 7 four days...

have diagnostic codes checked to see if you have a cam or crank sensor fault. make sure fuel pressure is at the required pressure, just testing to see if you have fuel at the valve is not enough. replace all spark plug wires. if you replaced two then all are just as old and even when they "look good" does not qualify as "they are good". Replace coil pack. start up drive away happy

2000 Ford Tarus- Took off from stop sign just fine then car wouldn't go faster. As I pushed the gas, the car reved but wouldn't go. Pulled over and shut car off. Started car again and tried...

I would guess that something inside of the transmission has failed and there is no longer a mechanical connection between the motor and the drive axles regardless of what gear you attempt to move in.[sheared splines, broken planetary, etc.] Often when this happens you won't hear any kind of noise because of the failed parts being inside the transmission case...instead the car just won't go anymore. You could have a CV drive axle joint that has failed but generally they will make some noticable rattling or grinding noise as they churn away when you try to go forward or reverse. If something has failed inside of the transmission then the transmission will need to be removed and repaired. It if is just a drive axle joint that has failed then that can be replaced without doing anything to the transmission. Hope this helps and good luck!

2002 dodge neon that takes over 2 miles to get up to 40mph and can't go up any steep hills...is this a transmission problem?

If the engine is reving but car not accellerating , then yes , it is the trans if an Auto , or the clutch if it is a standard.
If you are just not able to get any power out of the engine , I would suspect Fuel filter.

My 2002 Dodge intrepid has it engine light on

The MAP sensor and Knock Sensor are both very easily replaced. A better scanner will tell you which sensor is going bad on your transmission. An Autozone code reader will not tell you which sensor on the trans. is acting up. Most sensors on your trans. are very easity replaced as well. They just screw in and plug it. It's worth paying to get a "real" scan done. The trans. sensors are inexpensive and you can replace any other your listed sensors yourself.
