Van cuts off while driving down the road

My van just shuts off while driving down the road. We thought it was the fuel pump but it works just fine, it is like something just quits telling it to send fuel to the motor. Help. Thanks

I have the same problem with the same year van. The code reads cam sensor error. The computer needs to see the cam sensor. If not the shut down relay will turn off the engine. Much the same for the crank shaft sensor or the roll over safety switch. I changed the cam sensor and it seems fine for now.

DID YOU CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE WITH A FUEL PRESSURE GUAGE, AND MAKE SURE IT IS WITHIN SPECS? IF SO THEN IT COULD BE YOUR IGNITION SWITCH...THE PROBLEM IS, TO DIAGNOSE IT IF IT IS THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE VAN MUST BE IN THE "NO START, OR NO RUN" STATE AT THE TIME....

Van died well going down the road.

If I am understanding this right it is totally dying while you are driving. I am going to assume that it turns over at this point but does not sound aas if it is getting gas. If this is the case you have one of two or both problems. The fuel pump or the fuel relay. I would start with the fuel relay.

if its been a while change the fuel filter and then have the fuel pressure and volume checked.these symptoms are very common for a fuel pump problem.

I was driving the van and it just shut off.

Our mechanic replaced the fuel sensor in our van and solved this problem.
