I would be checking for a battery or alternator problem. The first thing to check is your battery terminals. Make sure they are clean and tight. If they are not then it can cause this type of problem. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery to see if it has at least 12.65 volts. You can also make sure that when the car is running it has at least 13.5 volts. If you don't have a voltmeter or don't want to do the tests you can take your car to an auto parts store and they will usually check it for free.

I have 2007 honda civic and need to reset the service light?

  1. Edit Step 15 ¶ When it's time to change the oilin your Civic, the maintenance light (orange wrench) will appear on your dash, as well as a B1 message, showing an oil life of 15% or less. To reset the Oil Life % gauge, press and hold the SEL/RESET button for about 10 seconds until the Oil Life message begins to flash.

Why does my 2001 civic ex have no dash lights at all and acts completely dead when trying to start, then starts just fine.

Reset maintenance light

There are 2 way to reset the maintenance light on Civic.
1. Manually reset
To reset this maintenance light, you will put the key in the ignition. Next you will press and hold the odometer reset knob, which can be found on the dash where the car's current mileage is located. While you continue holding that know, you will turn the key to the first position but do not start the engine. After about 10 seconds, the maintenance light should disappear. If the light is still on, you can turn off the vehicle and then try the process again. Once the light is off, you are all set until your next schedule maintenance.

2. Hook up a HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) software on a laptop, the light will go off within minutes.

92-95 honda civic ex 1.6L vtec won't start! New battery, new main relay. Still no start. As you notice the engine would crank but won't start up. Also the dash lights aren't lighting up either....

Did you get the key switch checked out ? The dash indicator lights have to be on for the engine to start. So you are not getting power to the dash lights, and probably not to the computer or ignition coil either.

Sounds like a starter that is in the 1st stages of death : ) Starters don't just die, (usually) they kinda die a long agonizing death, agonizing for you cuz most of us tend to push it and hope that it just keeps going, Forget it! It's dead replace it and move on. : ) I would def change out the starter though. That'll probably solve your problem. Good luck.

My maintenance required light came on and stays on. since maintenance required is such a broad subject, i was wondering how i can determine what may be causing this problem is it possible that it's the...

normally if its going to be an O2 sensor,, the check engine light would come on, not the maintenance light, I don't know if your car has 2 different ones, My 2000 civic does though,, normally a maint light comes on if its time for an oil change , etc... rest the light,, heres how you do that you use the button that resets your trip odometer to reset the maintenance light.

with the key in the ignition but not turned on, hold the trip reset button in with one hand. then, while holding the button in, turn the ignition key to the ON position so that the lights on the dash come on.

continue to hold the reset button in and watch the maintenance light. it will take about 15 seconds for the light to go out

when the light goes out, turn the ignition key OFF and then release the trip reset button.

your light will be reset and come on in about another 5000 miles to remind you of the next service

I'd check the distributor for spark, those year Honda's had alot of problems with the distributors. Also, I would check the multi-relay, under the dash, on the driver side, on the far left of the dash.
