Just to clarify you installed a new switch and now if you shut it off only half the headlights and taillights shut off?

Side lamps and tail lights not working 2000 subaru legacy

You do know that on Subaru's there is a switch on the steering collum that runs the running lights? If that's off the mark, then check your fuses. The one you will be looking for is marked "tail" in the fuse box.

1992 Subaru legacy ignition switch turns on but it doesnt give turning sound to start engine.

I've changed quite a few ignition switches on Subaru's after 150,000 miles. It could also be a bad connection at the starter (the small wire) or a bad starter.

I have a 92 subaru legacy and the park lights stay on when the ignition is off, and the key is hard to turn.

Your ignition switch is faulty and needs replacement this is why the power stays on to power up the lights!

My tail lights and license plate light stay on when my 1990 Subaru Legacy Wagon is turned off.

Dude! This is a common issue..there is a switch on top of the steering column for the 'parking lights'. It needs to be turned off....I'll bet that's it.
Good luck,

Alarm sounds and car wont start on my 1995 subaru

First try to reset alarm by inserting key in drivers door lock and lock and unlock-if this does not work try tail lock as well.

1995 subaru legacy l the dashboard lights are not working

  • Check fuse #9 at in car fuse panel
  • Check Illumination CTRL Module for melt-down
  • Check that Tail and Illumination relay is fully seated, top center of in-car fuse panel.
The relay is most likely the cause.
