Turn my car off and my light over head wont shut off. what could be the problem 2002 olds bravada

The dimmer dial that adjusts the level of the dash lights may be turned all the way to where it turns on interior lights. Back it off a bit.
One of the door latches switch is faulty to where it thinks the door is open (I don't think that car still uses door jamb switches but if it does then it may be one of them). If there is an over ride button on or near the head light switch, press it.
Do the lights stay on for a long time and never turn off? It may just be the feature that turns the dome light on and stays on for a few seconds to a minute or so for when you exit of enter the vehicle.

It could be a sensor problem in one of the doors causing the light to remain on. It could also be a broken wire, or wire that is touching metal (grounding out). Try opening and closing the doors to see if that turns the light off. Also check to see if your headlight switch has a control for the interior lights that needs to be turned off.
