2002 Acura RSX type S wont start

My Acura died in the middle of driving it a couple days ago. Its not the battery and its not the alternator. I can hear the fuel pump come on so i am pretty sure its not that. Here is exactly what happened… I was getting ready to pull into my parking spot and it just died, when I tried to restart the car it tried turning over a couple times and nothing, eventually all it did was click. What would cause my car to just shut off randomly like that?

If you heard a click when you cranked it, that's usually a dead battery. But, you need to check the oil level. I've had 2 RSX's that jumped time because the oil level dropped too low.

The tensioner on the timing chain is hydraulically controlled, if the oil level drops the tensioner looses tension and the chain jumps time. Its an extensive and expensive repair.

If you can shift when key on engine off, then prob clutch or slave. If not then internal transmission fault.

Wiring schematics are your best friend at this point. Locate the ground circuit for the stereo (first on the schematic, then physically on the vehicle). For a component to receive "partial power" but not function as intended, the ground circuit is the best place to look. A corroded ground or a splice or crack in the ground wire should be the cause of your problem.

Starter engages slightly on my 2002 acura rsx but wont start car. battery is fully charged

Get a long shank screw driver and place it on the starter. While a friend attempts to start the car, tap the handle of the screw driver with a ball pin hammer. Sounds like the pin is catching upon deployment. Eventually your going to need to replace the solenoid and the starter.
