i don't know. i suspect it is a burnt out or loose bulb. if easy, switch bulb from left side to test.

a few ideas either the wires between the door and the frame (in the rubber boot) have become worn causing a break in the line or the switch is bad the batteries need replacing in the remote or the linkage has come undone possibly the fuse is blown these are a few areas in which to address the issue with 1st

Sounds like a problem with the fuel level float/sending unit in the fuel tank.

if its a similar engine to the standard vw's then you can bend the spring loaded tensioner right behind the alternator with a spaneer (shifting spanner works well) and it loosens the belt.

You will need "VAG diagnostic software" - (google it) on a laptop and a £15 VAGCOM interface cable if you want to do it yourself.
