Renault Megane H/Back - 1999

1999 Renault Megane H/Back. Problem with wipers, both back and front. Back wipers will not work - We have ascertained the back wiper motor is fine by connecting to a battery. Don't know why it won't work? Front Wipers - the front wipers will not pump water, again we know the motor is working but not pumping. The front wipers will work in the normal mode but if I pull the hand as if to spray water on the windscreen the wipers stall in mid-motion. All the fuses have been checked and nothing to do with that. Any ideas??

HI
Well im a girl and know nothing about cars and just had a nightmare with my wipers. Went to 3 garages yesterday who checked the motor and fuses and they were fine. They all said it was the wiper relay which I have had to order from Benfield motors-they are now selling the parts for renault...they didnt have a clue to be honest! The lads in Kwik Fit have been amazing and very helpful! Hope this helps. I am waiting for my relay to be delivered...so fingers crossed!!

Renault megane 1996 electrical problems

It sounds like you have an electrical issue with your Renault Megane. If the problem occurs when you turn on the headlights, wipers, or power windows, it's possible that the additional electrical load is causing a drop in the voltage supplied to the engine, resulting in a temporary loss of power.
Here are a few things you can check to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check the alternator belt for proper tension and condition. A loose belt could result in an alternator that's not functioning correctly, causing a drop in voltage.
  2. Check the alternator's charging system for any signs of damage or wear. If the alternator is not charging the battery properly, it could cause the voltage to drop when additional electrical load is added.
  3. Inspect the electrical connections and wiring, looking for any loose or corroded connections. If any are found, clean them and tighten them as necessary.
  4. If the issue is still not resolved, it may be necessary to have the vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic who has experience with Renault vehicles. They will have the proper equipment to diagnose the issue and make the necessary repairs.
I hope these tips help you resolve the issue with your Renault Megane. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask.

I have a renault megane cabriolet and the intermittent wiper are not working all other speeds are working does anyone know what i need to look at!

Hi, if it is only the intermittent speed that is not working the cause might be the wiper switch that is faulty. You will need to replace the wiper switch.

2001 renault megane classic - wipers not working

if the fuse is fine then get a voltmeter and test the voltage reading to the wiper's electric motor. If you get a reading then check the motor itself as it may be faulty.

Megane Coupe knocking from Dash when Wipers turned on

Sounds like the wipers are over working or not secured properly, This can over work the motor for the wipers. Try checking the bolts connecting the wipers and the blades on the wipers for good contact this will be a good starting point.

Rain Sensor wipers Renault Megane

Either the replacement sensor the windscreen technician should have fitted isnt connected properly to the glass or it has developed an intermittant fault - quite common with Renaults especially megane scenics and grand scenics....
