Window issues 2002 xterra 4x4 se All windows are slow to go up and down (electric) but the driver's front will not go up without pulling on the rear corner. I removed the door panel but nothing stood out except the rubber in the window guide is cracked and no longer sits flush. I'm heading to the dealer to ask for suggestions but feel I'll be told to simply buy a new motor and or regulator.

SOURCE: 2002 Nissan Xterra drivers power window wont roll down

Quite possibly yes...I would first check any relays and/or fuses just in case.  A few dollars for a fuse or relay is much cheeper than say $100.00 and a few hours of labor.
You can purchase just the window motors from any major auto parts stores.  You can also purchase the window motor with the regulator.  The regulator is kind of like a rope and pulley system to lift the window up and down and the motor is attached to this assembly.  It is a little more expensive but I would change both.  I always change both just in case the regulator is bad and it isn't the motor.  You will have to remove the plastic interior of the door in order to change either the motor or the motor/regulator assembly.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Drivers side window wont roll up all the way but goes down normally..

Get a can of spray silicone lubricant, and using the nozzle tube, spray down the front and rear guide tracks of the window. Run the window up and down a few times to distribute the lubricant, and the window should work fine.

How to repair the driver side window switch on 2000 oldsmobile bravada

If you can get the switch out without having to take the door's inner panel off, I suppose you could try a salvage yard switch. However, more likely it's not the switch but a problem with the motor-the driver's window is the most used on a car, so likely the first to wear out. Pull the inner panel off and with a spare battery and jumper wires, test the motor operation. Pull off the electrical connector at the motor and hook up the jumper wires-doesn't matter which direction-if nothing happens, reverse your jumper leads-check if motor moves both directions. If motor works now, it was the switch or the wiring from switch to motor. If motor is bad or noisy or slow moving, you will have to replace the motor. Not easy, but doable.

Power window slow to go up and down on passenger's side front today. It stopped half way up on the 4th try, then I have to wait a second then it goes up a little more. I have to keep doing this...

i had the same problem with my car...it was the motor starting to wear out---it would be easiest to get one from a pick and pull or a recycling lot and just switch them out...in the meantime, pull up on the window as you press the lift button and it should be able to get all the way up until you can remedy it....and also check to make sure the rubber seal-like liner that lines the bottom of the window along the door isn't causing a heavy amount of friction

2000 xterra driver side control panel-everything works but the driver side window. I can pull it up a certain way -hold my ****** out to the right & lean to the left and it will roll up. it rolls down...

Hi Wendy Lee,

It is possible that the window switch is going bad, but it is also possible that the window motor is going bad. Either way, you would have to remove the door panel to do any kind of testing. One very easy thing that you can do is contact your local dealership or search online for any recalls on that particular problem for your make and model. I do know that Nissan had a recall for this particular problem on the 2001 Xterras. Perhaps your make is included. If not, then trying a different window switch (new or used) will narrow the possibilities. If a different switch doesn't fix it, you can all but bet it's the motor. Compare prices from parts stores and junkyards. I hope this helps in some way.

Drivers side electric window does not work

Remove the door panel and disconnect the motor from the window, but leave it plugged in. See if the motor works. If it does you should grease the tracks on the window. If the motor does not work then you should replace the motor. The motor will probably get hot when you try working it.

Passenger electric window

Hi Ethel101
I think that what has happened with your vehicle, is that the master (driver control) switch has become defective....If you have a friend who is good with electronics you may be able to ask for help in getting it fixed....otherwise a new unit is needed.

Best regards
