up for a wiper arm mechanism
or buick genuine part or a used wrecker part
try this
bottom of the wiper arm
there might be a cover and under the cover... a nut
its a nut to tighten
a taper at the base of the whole wiper arm to
motor linkage has probably worked loose
if the tighten doesnt fix it
you can ad an extra washer under the nut and tighten
check to see if nut at the end of wiper arm is tight under plastic cap is tight the side near bottom of windshield if it is the wiper transmission is failed needs replaced
Make sure wiper arms are tight they are on a spline also where the wiper arm transmissin conects to the wiper motor therw is a nut that holds a z shaped bracket that losens up and oblongs the rectangular slot so the wipers stop with the least resistance.
i`m not sure what you mean by it not working properly i assume that you mean it goes back and forth like the passenger side, but it doesn`t clean the window and you put the blade on the arm correctly then the wiper may be damaged and you will have to replace the wiper blade.check and compare the installation of the driver`s side to the passenger side wiper and correct the installation of the blade
Hello: lift/remove cover from the lower end of the w/w arm (toward bottom of windshield) there should be a 13mm nut that attaches the arm to the transmission shaft. Use a 13mm box end and see if the nut is tight. If not tight position the arm in the proper position and tighten nut, re-install nut cover.
if the passanger wiper stopped working AND the drivers side is still working...one of two problems. the easiest is to pop off the black cap at the base of the wiper arm, under it you will find a nut. check to see the nut is tight. turn the wipers on and observe the post that the nut is on, if it is turning, then the nut needs to be tightened or the spline on the post or wiper arm is stripped. If the post is not turning, then most likely an arm on your wiper assembly has come off, remove the wiper arms remove the black plastic cowl and you will find the wiper arm assembly.
good luck. HTH
At the base of the wiper arm, there should be a cover.
Pop up that cover. Underneath that cover should be a nut. Tighten the nut. Careful not to overtighten!
Recheck operation.
That retaining nut has become loose.

Remove the wiper arm and check the serrated hub to see if it sheared a pin holding it to the shaft. If it is ok, then you may have a broken/loose part in the linkage. Good luck!
Check to see if the wiper motor moves the passenger side. If so, You may need to tighten the nut that connects the arm to the motor. Mine was stripped out because or snow & ice. So, I went to home depot and found a lock washer to fit.
