AC Compressor seized up

My AC compressor has seized up and I can't start my car now. Is there a way to get it running without replacing the AC?

Go to the parts store tell them the issue and ask if there is a shorter drive belt that will allow you to bypass the AC compressor pulley

How to remove ac compressor

Mine did the same thing. My car would not start. You need a New compressor and replace dryer. If you don't replace dry your warranty wont be good for your new compressor.

Keeps blowing fuse

Most likely the clutch on your ac compressor has stopped working or the entire compressor has seized. The blower will still work, but without the clutch working correctly int won't cool like it should. While possible to replace just the clutch on a compressor, it's generally better to replace the entire assembly.

Seized air conditioner compressor

If the compressor is seized, you will know when you turn on the AC, as the belt will shriek like a banshee usually. And yes you can usually just bypass it with a belt for the same model as yours without AC. If there werent any built without AC, you can try another model with the same engine. If all else fails, you can use a small mason's rope to pass through the pulleys without the AC and mesure the length of the rope needed to do so, then count the number of ribs on the original belt. Any good counter parts guy will be able to find you a belt that will fit the measurements as close as possible.

The ac compressor is seized .I need to replace belt but I need to bypass the ac pulley.Do i need to buy a bypass pulley?

If the pulley on the compressor will not turn freely, then yes if a bypass pulley exists you would need to use it in place of the compressor.
If the compressor pulley turns but the compressor is locked up, just unplug the compressor clutch.

Engine dies as soon as I turn on the air or heat.

If by heat you mean defrost, it could be a seized AC compressor or compressor clutch, since the AC compressor is also engaged when in defrost mode to remove moisture from the air.

Try turning the flat, round plate on the front of the AC compressor by hand (WITH THE ENGINE OFF!!) If turns with only a little resistance, the compressor is most likely NOT your problem. If it not turnable by hand, then your compressor is seized up will most likely need replaced.

The fan belt fell off and the a/c climate part mented the belt so is that part going out

The AC compressor has seized up causing the ac compressor clutch to hold hold the belt while the engine is running. Consider replacing the compressor along with the receiver/dryer and metering valve for good preventative maintenance on you AC.

My engine stalls out when running air conditioner

I agree that it's probably seizing up and here's a video I made on how to change the compressor. You also need to change the accumulator and orifice tube when you change the compressor. If the compressor came apart and threw chunks or metal shavings into the system, it's recommended to flush the system but that didn't happen on mine, so I don't show how to do that.

Could be bad AC clutch relay. Just replaced mine ($11 at autozone). It is located in the relay box just behind the battery.
