My interior lights will not turn on at all which also means that my keyless remote doesnt work either. I changed the blower motor as it died and replaced it witha new one and then the lights started to work for a bit and now they dont work at all, would it be because the passenger door isnt used often as i found this as a solution and now it doesnt want to work can you help me please and thank you for your time

i have replaced the resistor and blower motor and all climate controls.... .. 5 volts on all speed except high... high gets 15 or 20 and sets off the anti lock light.... when i mess with the wiring going into the relay the antilock light flickers. i hope its just a short... i will be replacing the wiring soon... i will keep progress posted

I think the body control module is shorting out . The body control module can be over heating internally then shorted out. All the parts you mention have a circuit running to the body control module. I would have the vehicle checked for codes at a repair shop , then check the wiring to the body control module.

check for wiring breaks at inner door jams ,can be at either door ,happens from harness flexing over time while opening and closing doors,you'll have to slice thru wrap to see wires clearly,spraying wd40 in thru switch levers cleans up contacts well on older gm

I am not sure about the 1992 since they have newer dashboard than my 86.

Anyway, I got that same intermittent issue on mine, sometime the battery was drawn in the morning sometime not, very frustrating, until i noticed that the interior light sometime was not going out as it should after 30 seconds when leaving the car in the evening.

I eventually found the timer module after removing the upper dash pad, on the passenger side. The module was just partially unplugged. Put it back in and never got problem anymore (was 6 years ago).

You can do it yourself.

Couple of times when you replace the remote battery, you might have them not working/ responding but just follow the procedure below.

Stand close to the car, hold down the open and close knobs for about 10 seconds. Press them at the same time for 3 seconds; then press the open button as the car opens.

The above procedure is applicable to a lot of car brands. It does not matter how many knobs you might have on the remote fob.

I have carried this procedure out on a lot of brands ranging from Honda, Toyota, Rover, Ford, etc. and it works perfectly well.
