I have a lowered 94 c1500 2 wheel dr. I dropped the back 4 in and the front 2 in. Now I cant manually pull the shifter into low gear. I have been told this problem could be from the geometry changin after it was lowered. I dont have to manualy shift it into low gear but I would like the option to take advantage of mods. Thanks for the help

You have to adjust the sifter rod that's in the engine compartment next the steering column .

SOURCE: My 98 s10 is stuck in 4 wheel drive low.

Pull the kick panel on the passenger side. there is a small box mounted there that is the computer that controls the actuator for the 4wd system. this is notorious for problems due in fact that the connector likes to pull out and away from the module. I had the same problem and the solution is simple.. take a long zip tie and get it between a few of the wires and around the module. tie it in and have a nice day.. it wont come off or try to pop out anymore and you should have no issues getting into 2wd, 4wd h, 4wd L.

SOURCE: 1991 S10 blazer 4x4 4.3 popping coming from the front

the popping sound is the stabilizer links or the lower control arm bushings you can replace all bushings and both link kits for around 50.00 and the light is prob from the sensor on the transfer case or the front end i would remove and clean with dawn dishwashing liquid and put them back.

SOURCE: my 89 chevy s-10 pickup 4 wheel drive doesnt work.

On the 1989 s10 it has a vacuum actuator that actually locks the front differential in ,you need to check that first, those go bad real often, and without it. There's no way it will lock in the axle, the transfer case will lock in ,but the front differential uses a actuator. It 's located under the battery tray and there is a cable towards the front of the differential. Id say the actuator cable has gone out, most parts stores can get you one ,that what goes wrong with those 99% of the time and it only takes about 5 minutes to change it out. Good luck but check the vacuum line to the actuator under the battery tray.

How to pull 2002 mazda tribute trans

Pull the drive shaft, (4 wheel drive) remove the transfer case, Put a jack under it and support it, remove the mount nuts, jack it up, remove the cross member, remove the starter and any covers in front, remove the torque converter nuts/ bolts, Lower it, keeping it supported some what. Remove the bell housing bolts. Jack it up a little and slide it back. Lower it and remove all the electrical connectors. remove the shifter cable. Pull it out and replace. You really need a manual for this job. Good luck.

Replacing timing chain in 94 throttle body 2 wheel drive 4.3

I would check to make sure its the timing chain they normaly don't go first on that engine. The crank shaft pisition sensor or the disturbtor shaft can look like the timing is the problem. But if you have broken a tooth on the gear or something you need to remove the radaitor the water pump the timing cover you can unbolt the upper gear the lower one you have to pull. Set the engine up so # 4 cylinder is at the top of the compression stork. install the gears so the mark is down on the upper gear and up on the lower gear and they line up in the middle # 4 is the front right hand side when faceing the engine from the front and the vehicle be on correctly timed.

My shifter dropped down and I cant figure out what happend. It still shifts, but I have to pull up on the shifter to change gear. I cant find what holds the shifter in place as I dont have a manual.

The shifter bushings are broken, requires (4). You will have to take the console out to see what needs done. You can fix it without them if you are a little mechanical. You will see when you get the console out. Here is a good source for the parts: http://www.midcomustang.com/

Here is a good online manual in pdf format: http://www.techcapri.com/Repair/Capri_Service_Manual.htm

If you don't feel confident enough to tackle this, any good shop could do this job within a few hours time.

4 wheel drive wont swich back to 2 wheel drive

For a temporary fix so the car can drive, remove the fuse for the four wheel drive. it won't actuate the four wheel. The car is always in 2wheel drive. the fuse is located under the hood, the very right side of the of the fuse box, the third fuse up from the bottom. This can be checked in the owners manual. When I need four wheel dr I place the fuse back in. I haven't fixed the problem yet but can drive it 2wheel on the road. think it is the control module for the four wheel dr located under the dash board behind the glove box. Dealer part for $450, I would rather install and remove a 10cent fuse
