Got the engine check light on after a light bump on the road after which the engine started missing . How can i fix it and turn off the light in my 2003 toyota corolla 1-8E?

sounds like the water is the culprit I think you should check your coil boots and spark plugs reset the computer by turning on the key to on position take off negative terminal on the battery leave it off for 2 minutes put it back on and the light should go out do you have a code reader it should tell you the code for your problem

I have got a toyota corolla 1993 and the warning light on the right hand side panel showing the engine shape is flashing, all fluids are good and i have just had an oil and filter change done, any idea's...

follow this steps.God bless you
When you turn the ignition ON before starting the car, the "Check engine" light is supposed to come on indicating that the engine computer (also could be called ECM, PCM, or ECU) is powered on. If the "Check engine" light does not come with the ignition ON, it's possible that there is no power coming to the engine computer (e.g., due to a broken wire, faulty main relay, burnt fuse, etc.) or that there is a problem with the engine computer itself.

My toyota corolla 2006 model has the maint. required lights on. what does that mean?

It means your car needs an oil change, based on mileage. If you take your car to get the oil changed, they can reset the light for you. If you want the light off now, try holding in the odometer reset button, with the key on but engine off, until little dashes appear then one by one dissapear. This procedure may need to be done either on the odometer total mileage or trip A mileage or trip B mileage.

Step 1: Have car off.

Step 2: Push and hold in trip reset button.

Step 3: While still holding button in, turn key to ON, but engine off. Wait for the little dashes to appear and disapear. If it doesn't work on the odometer setting. before turning key off, switch to Trip A setting. If the procedure doesn't work on the odometer setting or Trip A, try Trip B setting.

Step 4: Turn key off. Then start car. Maint. required light should be off.

I have a 1997 toyota corolla that one of the chimes (seat belt, key ignition or lights) just started dinging and won't stop until the car is turned off.

Get in the car, make sure your dome light is set to door-operation.
Close all the doors, does the dome light go out?
If so, it's not the door ajar chime. If not, one of your door pin switches is defective.
Buckle your seatbelt, does the seatbelt warning light on the dash go out?
If so, it's not the seatbelt alarm. If not, it's the seatbelt buckle receiver.
The light warning works with the key off, so it is not that since turning the car off would not stop it.
Last thing it could be is the ignition key alarm.
I have seen a few malfunction over the years.

What are the causes of check engine light? Can check engine light affect the auto transmission system?

Have you had your air filter changed or checked recently? If you've had it done somewhere other than the dealership that could be your issue. There is a sensor that connects to the enclosure around the air filter. If it is not correctly reattached after service it will cause the check engine light to come on.
Even if you do discover the issue and correct it, the check engine light will persist for server times you turn the engine on and off but usually by the 3-4th day it will turn off on its own. If you think it's mote serious, take it back in for service.
I can't tell you how many times I've taken my Highlander in for service at a non- Toyota dealer (bc I travel for work) and the check engine light comes on bc they check the air filter and neglect to reattach the sensor. Hope this helps.

Check engine light

Try the following:
1. Make sure the odometer is shown (not trip meters). Turn key to the Off position. 2. Press the odometer button AND turn the ignition key to the ON position for a few seconds. 3. You will hear a ding and the odometer will show four or five underscores to indicate the reset is done.
