The maintenance schedule is in the owners manual on the last 2 pages I believe, But here are some of the things to check the maintenance schedule on that car calls for oil changes every 3,750 miles if you primarily use the car around town or 7,500 if you do mostly highway driving without stop and go traffic. Most cars should go by the 3,750 schedule.

tire rotations should be every 7,500 miles. Brakes should be checked when the tires are rotated.

the major service on the 4 cylinder is every 30,000 miles. that includes the tune-up items of replacing spark plugs, adjusting the valves, replacing the air filter, transmission fluid, interior cabin filter and the inspections and adjustments.

the 6 cylinder does not need the valve adjustment or spark plug replacement until 105,000 miles. otherwise, the fluids and filter replacements are every 30k.

the timing belt on both the 4 cyl and the 6 cyl is 105,000. at that time the water pump and coolant are also replaced as well as the other accessory drive belts.

Brake fluid should be replaced every 3 years or 45,000 miles.

I'm told that my 2007 EOS needs a very expensive change of transmission fluid (I have the tiptronic transmission) for "routine maintenance" at 45,000 miles. What is the liklihood that I will have problems...

VW fill the gearboxes "for life" which means it must be changed at "regular intervals as specified in the dervice manual"you could leave it as long as you want, but could cause problems later.(especially if the car is driven HARD.)the (VW)oil for the tiptronic gearbox IS expensive.

What does it mean that my maintenance required light is on (2005 corolla)?

The light comes on every 10,000 miles to remind you to change oil and other required service. There is a procedure to reset the light, do a search on Toyota Maintenance Required light.

NEEDS MAINTENANCE light on at 46,666 miles

The light comes on at fairly short intervals ... even to let you know that you need an oil change. The mileage at which it comes on will depend on when it was reset last time. Here's a link to Yahoo Answers to turn the light off yourself.

What does perform service message mean?

This is a oil change reminder. Nothing fancy about, when you get your oil change go into the menu and click reset counter and it will go off. If there was something wrong with your car the check engine light would come on.

The maintenance light on my accord 1991 turned red does this mean i need a tune up oil change which has been more that 7000 miles or am i looking at something that will cost me alot

THE LIGHT COMES ON TO LET YOU KNOW WHEN MAINTENENCE IS COMING DUE OTHER THAN OIL CHANGES. SUCH AS, TIRE ROTATIONS, TRANSMISSION SERVICE, ETC. ROUTINE MAINTENCE ACCORDING TO APPROXIMATED MILAGE. IT SHOULD HAVE A BUTTON ON THE DASH TO THE LEFT OF THIS LIGHT THAT CAN BE PUSHED IN WITH A PEN TO RESET. REFER TO OWNERS MANUAL FOR SCHEDULED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ACCORDING TO YOUR OVERALL MILEAGE

Maintence required on red

Maintenance Required is a light that comes on after a predetermined number of miles. For example, if the maintenance schedule Honda set for the car calls for an oil change at 3000 miles, a new fan belt at 6000 miles, and another oil change at 9000 miles, then the maintenance required light will come on every 3000 miles and stay on until it is reset by the dealer. Some people, especially those that do their own regular maintenance but don't have a way to reset the light themselves, find this an annoyance. But others find it useful and take their cars in to the dealer every time the light comes on, and they rest assured that all of the regular maintenance is always done on time.

What this light does NOT do however is signal that there is anything immanently wrong with your car. It is not a "Check Engine" light (that's the one you should worry about if it ever comes on), but merely a reminder for you to do preventative maintenance. That doesn't mean you should *ignore* it, per se, as you want to make sure you have your car on some kind of maintenance schedule, even if yours is not as strict as Honda's. But there is no need to panic.

The maintenance required light is on in my 2005 toyota corolla S, what does this mean?

It means you need to get your oil changed, or they didn't reset it after your last oil change.
