Most auto parts stores will do a stress test on the electrical system during starting. i would have this done first. before removing the starter, it may be weak starter solenoid or a simple relay.

Unhook the battery locate the starter take out the bolts holding the starter in you may have to pull up on the starter in order to get it to come out it may be easier to undo the wire connections before taking starter out youll have to decide that for yourself be careful it can be a lil heavy and maybe a lil awkard to handle trying to get it out. reverse the process to reinstall.

What about spark plugs and plug wires on those two cylinders with no spark? This is a v8 engine, you didn't mention the other cylinders? The rotor turns when you crank it?

How do i change a 2000 dodge dakota power steering pump?

First--- why are you considering changing it?

How do you know the pump is the problem,
within the power steering system?

I think you when you look at it, you will see
on that vehicle, that you can get at it fairly
easily & unbolt it.

Can you change fuel filter on a 4.7 v8 quad cab dakota

Yes, it should be located above the fuel tank. You have to partially lower the tank to gain access.

2000 dodge dakota quad cab 4x4 v8 air conditioning set on max stops coming out of the vents when accelerating or pulling a load and feels like it loses power, it doesn't do it on the next lowest setting....

Sounds like you are losing too much vacuum under acceleration. Possibly a partially stopped up converter, or bad intake manifold gasket. Possibly a bad door actuator in the heater box also, and the loss of power would be a seperate issue.

Truck won't turn over

Sounds like your starter is dead.  Take the starter to a local auto parts store and they will test it for you.  I would be that is your problem and you will just have to purchase another one and install.  Install shouldn't be too hard.  Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa.

2002 Dodge dakota extra cab 4.7 4x4 trans slipping at higher speeds

Had this happen on my 2001 Dakota. It was the throttle position sensor, replaced it and now runs good. Tranny shop did it.
