Hi, the no BUS is usually a seriuos issue with engine controller communication. Can you check and see what trouble code is stored in the PCM (engine comuter)? This code needs to be retrieved with a code reader available at most auto stores for around $40. If you can give me the code, I can tell you exactly what is wrong and what will be needed to repair your Jeep.

01 Jeep grand Cherokee I have crank but no start no gauges no power at fuel pump. All fuses good under dash & hood . Turn key to on, 1st warning light low fuel. 2nd key w/ line 3rd check engine help

you used voltmeter at the pump?> or just didnt here it run
do say this...please. details, matter....
it told you low fuel is it? is the fuel gauge near "E"
why not state that first.?
dead gauges, be 1st right, smacks of gross power loss.
right>? not clear to me what no gauges means.
but the voltmeter is #1 no?

did you tests fuse that look ok. fuse that look ok can be bad.
no gauges, means all dead, no movement,
well the fuel gauge must work , does it, does it match reality?
cranks but never runs. good input there.

does not run for the jeep 3 seconds.? (ASD rules)
no 12vdc power to pump, when cranking,?
01 grand WJ jeep usa.
is the skim lamp off, the cluster lamp for SKIM security is first.
it must go out after key turn on, or it will never run, ever.
I can help.
WJ jeep
this jeep has a voltage gauge, it must read 12v keyon
if not power is lost, or battery low.
if cranks that tells me the fues blew.
skim cuts spark and fuel, not cranking btw.
2002 cluster
http://jeepdied.com/cluster2002GC.JPG
see that lamp 12, if stuck on car will never start but will crank.
the lamp falses if skim is not working or stays on for ******* key.
we SCAN ALL CARS NOW.
IF You can not scan a modern jeep then it can near impossible to diagnose (a hard cold fact)
IF the ASD fails to work, the PCM tells you every time
all 8 ways for it to fail.
but that takes a scan tool (any modern scanner works,)

2001 chevy blazer Lt 2w Drive 4.3 No Start Condition

Make sure the battery has a full charge.

Are you missing anything besides fuel? Engine cranking visually check for spark at the spark plugs. Also, check for fuel injector pulse. If your missing everything, check for an rpm signal.

With the spider fuel system, start-up fuel pressure can be critical, around 60--66 psi. At the fuel pump connector, engine cranking, gray wire is voltage, black is ground. If good voltage and ground with no fuel pump action, have to suspect the fuel pump.

Jeep will crank but no start what can my problem be

well you need to find out if it is spark or fuel giving you the problem check for spark first they have problems with the crankshaft position sensor which could be the problem not easy to get to its bolted to the bell housing with 2 bolts if you do not have spark that would be a good place to start

My 2001 Grand Cherokee limited 4.7 dies a few seconds after it starts than will not start again for a few minutes?

Sounds like the relay that runs the fuel pump. The computer may be reading no oil pressure and shuts the engine down Check the oil pressure when it starts with a manual gauge. You may need to prime the oil pump.

2001 jeep cherokee compression guage at 80

generally it turns outto be one of three things 1. bad sending unit (switch) 2. stuck pressure relief valve in pump (not often) 3. bad gauge head (less than not often)(rare). You can attach a mechanical gauge to the engine and read actual oil pressure (attaches right where sender screws in). That will tell you if the problem is inside the engine or in the gauge system. If it turns out to be inside the engine you can add Marvel oil...many times the problem will clear up in a few days.
Be aware though that very high pressures can cause the oil filter to split or the seal to leak. Most quality filters are tested to about 100psi.(no idea about cheap ones if the test them at all)

Slow to start when it does start there is a cloud of smoke 3.1 td limited 2001 grand cherokee i have allready burst a starter as it takes so long to start

If its black smoke, I'd suspect that you either have some leaking injectors or worn valve seals. White smoke would indicate coolant getting into the combustion chambers (head gaskets?) I'd pull a few plugs to see if they have anything on them before starting it up after sitting overnight.
a weak ignition coil or a coolant or manifold air temp sensor can do much the same thing though so I'd do some testing to see what you are dealing with before buying any parts. (check air filter as well...if it's really dirty it can contribute to that.)
You didn't mention any coolant loss or overheating so I'd tend to lean towards the engine getting a rich mixture or one of the other items related to that I mentioned.
Haynes and chilton are decent when it comes to sensor testing instructions and all you need is a digital multi-meter. Fuel pressure gauges are expensive so you may want to consider borrowing or having a shop check pressure for you. (Older gauges for carbureted engines read too low to help)
Good luck

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine temg gauge not working

If you changed the coolant temperature sensor and it had a 5 volt ref signal to it then you replaced the wrong part. You need to replace the coolant temperature sending unit.  The coolant temp "sensor" is an input to the ECM for your fuel injection system. The coolant temp "sending unit" is for coolant temp reading at the gauge, It is an NTC switch (negative temperature coefficient) which means as temp increases/resistance decreases.

2001 jeep cherokee cranks, no start, no bus

I just had the same problem of my 2001 jeep cherokee not starting with no gauges responding and a "no bus" reading. After reading the responses I changed out the CPS and my jeep now runs great! however, it was not as hard as I thought it would be. Very easy with 7/16 bit and a 10inch extender. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Finding it was the hardest part. Blends in with the bell housing. I did this from under the jeep with a good shop light. I paid about $80 for the part here in Atlanta, GA
