Is the brake light switch on my xlr behind the pedal?

WHEN YOU APPLY BRAKE PEDAL, do you see brake lights come on ? if no then the switch is not working fine ! switch turns lights on when you depress the pedal, releasing the plunger, lights go out when you release the pedal. this switch has a fuse @ fuse block. check it ! if ok, and brake lights do
not come on replace switch, & mount properly in bracket.

You may have a defective brake switch. The switch is located behind the brake foot pedal. When you apply pressure to the brake foot pedal, the switch should compress.

its the switch located behind your brake pedal hooked to it take a light look behind brake pedal you will see switch with wires hooked to it lube switch with silicone spray push brake pedal in and out switch probably not getting good connection and did you look at the fuses under the hood also ?

hi, if your brake lights wont turn off the the problem you are having is with the switch at the back of the brake pedal it may have come loose or need adjusting.
to find the brake light switch you need to get on your hands and knees and have a close look at the brake pedal, follow the pedal to the top where it goes through into the bonnet and you should then see the brake light switch just behind the brake pedal at the top, it will have a couple of wires going to it now you can either remove the switch or disconect the wires to switch the brake lights off but you should be able to see how it works and adjust it so that your brake lights start working properly again.

I have had numerous problems with chrysler corp brake switches getting dirty or worn and sticking pull switch from the holder at the brake pedal and move plunger if it is sticking it is somewhat noticable the most inexpensive fix is going to autozone and buying a replacement switch for $20.00 ...

the switch behind the brake pedal is out off adjustment or is going bad. the switch should be behind brake pedal on upper side.

the 1st thing you do is check and see if the brake lights are working, the system locks in park until it senses the brake pedal is pushed, so if the brake light switch is not working then it will not come out of park position.

fuse panel is either on the fire wall inside vehicle behind park brake and brake pedal or horizontally right near there looking up by brake pedal,also try and see if brake switch behind brake pedal is adjisted properly you can see this switch and the plunger on switch at brake pedal in the same location

Brake light not turning off it is either a contact or the brake light switch that need replacement. In your case , if brake lights go off playing with the pedal , that means that the switch must be replaced.
