Be sure to check underhood fuse block fuses as well as IPC fuse block,LH side. there is a common fuse for both of the power port/lighter asm.

I have tested ALL fuses including the side panel and the underhood fuse block.there is a fuse that is designated "cig lghtr" and it has power on one side as it should with the fuse removed, fuse tests as good with an ohm meter(no resistance).replacing the fuse does nothing. All fuses in both fuse panels have been tested in this manner on both trucks and yet there is no power at the socket. My auxiliary sockets on the other hand work just fine.

Cigarette lighter in car

The lighter in a Chevy Lumina can get lost easily if you routinely pull it from the socket to plug in electronic devices like GPS systems, cell phone chargers and laptops. If so, you need to replace it.

Cigarette lighter on 2004 Grand Prix isn't working.

The lighter socket or the element.
Check the element for burn marks and the socket for debris blocking the contacts.

I don't believe that the lighter has a relay in it's circuit. My best guess is that the lighter element shorted out, causing the fuse to blow. The lighter part that you pull out of the socket can be disassembled by unscrewing the knob. The element (part that glows red) can be replaced. Any auto parts store should have one.

No power to my comptuer plug. I can't pass my emmisson test. Is there a fuse? where would it be??

The plug gets power from the Cigarette Lighter 15A fuse in the underhood fusebox.

Cigarette lighters not working

check the fuse in the fuse compartment, make sure cable lead not broken, if lighter used frequently to heat up resistor, it ends up burning the wire, thus breaking off the back, replace if necessary.
