You might need a new battery but you need to have the charging system tested to make sure that it's working. If not, the new one will run down also. A good "quick test" is to attach a volt meter to the battery. If the voltage is between 13 and 14 volts running, chances are the charging system is good and the battery is bad.. But (there's always a but) if the car has an internal electrical problem that is pulling voltage with everything off, that needs to be diagnosed.

Hi I have Toyota Prius alpha hybrid 2014 my Auxiliary battery dead some time live but on battery say no add water but there is no water inside battery normally all battery are with water please help me...

The main hybrid battery used in the Toyota Prius hybrid, including the Prius Alpha, is a high-voltage nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack. Unlike regular maintenance that involves adding water, this battery pack does not require such maintenance. However, there is a smaller 12-volt auxiliary battery that is responsible for powering the accessories and starting the car, which may require maintenance.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:
  • Check the Auxiliary Battery Health:
  • Start by having the 12-volt auxiliary battery tested to ensure it's holding a charge and functioning properly. If the auxiliary battery is old or not holding a charge, it may need to be replaced.
  • Inspect Battery Terminals:
  • Ensure the battery terminals are clean and securely connected. Dirty or corroded terminals can prevent the battery from charging and delivering power.
  • Charge the Auxiliary Battery:
  • If the battery is low on charge, you can charge it using an appropriate battery charger. Make sure to follow the charger's instructions and safety precautions.
  • Check Charging System:
  • Ensure that the vehicle's charging system (alternator) is functioning correctly. If the alternator is not charging the auxiliary battery properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  • Consult a Professional:
  • If the issue persists or if you're unsure about handling electrical components, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or a Toyota service center. They can diagnose the issue accurately and provide appropriate solutions.
Remember, the main hybrid battery (the one that powers the electric drive) in a Toyota Prius is sealed and does not require adding water. It's the 12-volt auxiliary battery that might need maintenance or replacement.

Hello guys I need some advise please. I have a VW Caddy 2005 tdi diesel non turbo. The battery is fully charged and when I start the engine it turns very slow as if the battery is not charged.

if a car battery turns slow, and is charged
the battery is bad. (eol end of life)
to prove that is easy,
charge the battery fully , then load test it (a tool)
all cars shop and most auto stores do the test or free (carried in)
or jumper cable start the car if this works the battery in car dead is bad. if not, the problem is more complex.

I have a 2007 Highlander Hybrid.. I am wondering if I can charge the regular battery with jumper cables and another car? The regular battery is different than the hybrid batteries, correct?

Correct, two batteries. Once your vehicle is jumped and started, the alternator will charge all the batteries, so just take it for a 30 minute highway run. Your larger Hybrid battery bank should be fully charged by plugging it in.

All vehicle owners should have a 10 amp battery charger.

The battery will not hold a charge. Took it to Service center two years ago for a new battery but said the battery was now fully charged and I did not need a new one. BUT since that time the car would not...

you can upgrade your battery,i suggest that you do so. the more cold cranking amps on your battery the better.if theres an advance auto parts store near you they will have what you need and also install it for free. autozone does the same thing also. it's true when it gets cold it drags the charge down on a battery.a battery can check good in the summer and be bad in the winter.suggest that you have it changed out with new battery with 650 or 750 cold cranking amps. it will say so on the top of your new battery so don't be taken advantage of. thank you for choosing fixya.com oncallmech

Hi, the deep cycle battery is for the home part and should charge through the external connector port. The regular battery is for the engine. Is the regular battery charged up too?

How can i charge the battery for the equinox 2007 , can i just do it regularly like with the cables and another car??

The cables are just for jump starting, you won`t be able to get a full charge that way.You will need to connect a battery charger to do it properly. If you don`t have a battery charger auto zone will charge it and test it for free if you remove it and take it to them.
