The Sebring is a front wheel drive car. The transmission drives the two axles directly. You only need to check your transmission fluid. There is no differential like a rear axle style unit.
It is located under the starter that is for a 4 cylinder engine if you are a six cylinder or 2.7 it is located on the rear of the transmission housing above the differential housing
You need to check the gears in the differential and the U-Joint at the differential. Before you open the differential though find the fluid level check bolt and remove it. Stick your finger in the hole and check the fluid level. If it is low fill it and see if that solves the problem. I would look at the u-joint and fluid level and if both are good then look inside the rear differential. If the fluid is low you need to locate the leak
No. This is a cheap repair even if you take to Chrysler or any repair facility. All they do is drop the drive line and remove the pinion nut and remove the seal and tap the new one into place. Should only take them about an hour at most to do this.
You have a fuel injector problem. It is a known problem to Cryslter. Unless you are a very experienced mechanic, I am not going to recamend you try this one on your own. I have some first hand knowledge of this exact situation.
