The 01 Jetta is finicky about battery voltage. Check your owners manual for the correct voltage. Try replacing all of your fuses. It is likely that one or more may have blown. The fuse panel is on the side wall of the driver side dash. There is also a fuse box attached to your battery. Check those too. It is also possible you did damage to the electrical wiring. Any AutoZone/Advance/O'rileys can test that for you. Hope this helps.

My 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited sun roof does not want to open.

If your motor is audible and your fuses and connectors are okay, you may have to take a close look at the plastic gear parts up in the roof. The nylon parts do wear out since they are in the roof and more exposed to different temperatures. If any of that mechanism fails then your sunroof will stop working even if the motor is still good. It is a bit of a PITA to get to it since you will have to remove the headliner to get at the mechanism and then identify the worn part and replace it CAUTION: The sunroof system is timed from the factory so that the motor shuts off automatically when the sunroof window reaches a certain position. Extreme care must be taken when removing the motor, timing may be thrown off causing possible damage to the sunroof system. Anytime the motor is removed from the sunroof assembly the sunroof glass panel must be in the FULLY CLOSED POSITION or the unit will be out of timing. The drive motor cannot be reset to the park position after being removed.
CAUTION: The sunroof motor should only be powered through the vehicle battery and sunroof wire harness. Applying power to the sunroof motor leads will cause failure of the control module.
Move glass panel to the fully closed position.

Remove drive motor fasteners and remove motor from the sunroof housing

2006 Jetta TDI Electrical!!!

There is a known issue with the wiring harness in the doors. It's possible that the passenger door also has a bad harness (assuming they swapped out the one in the driver's door) Is that a correct assumption? It may still be related to your original problem too. I've heard of disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to reset the electrical (door switches). You should def give that a try - it's free.
Also check out the forums at www.tdiclub.com - those guys know their VW TDI's...

Brocken freelander sunroof

The motor is accessed after removing the interior roof light console. I have to warn you that Freelander sunroofs have a lot of problems. To change the motor, I think you will have to remove the roof lining as well with all that entails. The Land Rover Workshop manual has all the detail whereas the Haynes manual does not.
Try www.myfreelander.co.uk/Body/sunroof5door.htm for an exploded view of the sunroof.

Car won't start

Either an interior light or head lights were left on all night, or there's a dead short in the electrical system, or... the battery completely failed internally such as a weak spot or defect in the plates. At any rate, it all obviously points to the battery. Replace the battery.
