My 2000 taurus occassionally misfires when first starting and occassionally when accelarating in normal conditions usually around 40-50 mph. I loose no power when i accelerate and it is an intermittant problem. I've changed spark plugs and ignition wires and injectors. Could it be a vacuum leak or bad ingnition coil.

I would start with the intake gaskets. this gaskets are a common problem and would cause the lean condition and the misfiring and also before that even i would put a fuel pressure gauge on it to make sure the correct fuel pressure is being sent to the injectors, i weak pump can also cause this problem, starting witht the intake a smoke machine would be very helpful to pinpoint a gasket leak or using a scan tool and watching your fuel trim values while spraying throtlebody cleaner around the intake and seeing the values and if they change or the engine speed chages, this is where i would start. good luck and have a good day.
Misfire on 3 could mean bad plug or bad wire...or the distributor cap has a bad spot in the 3 position. Time for a tuneup. Get all new cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. Should be around $100.
