There are two screws that hold it in, remove them (phillips head most likely)

gently remove the light (may need to use a flat head screw driver and a rag to gently pry it out)

with the light all the way out, twist out the bulb socket.

If you are just replacing the bulb, remove the old bulb, insert a new one, and repeat the steps in reverse order. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the screws.

Hope this helps

Can cat. Converter cause 97 chevy cavalier to overheat?

Yes.
The cat could restrict the exhaust flow and cause the engine to run hot.
You would also notice a reduction in power and the check engine light would probably be on.

2.2 1997 chevy cavalier has a knocking sound and wont go over 15 mph up a hill

My guess would be a mechanical problem with the engine, such as a piston or valve.

My 1996 chevy cavalier has no brake lights or blinker lights. I replaced the multifunction switch on the column and the brake stop switch. Still no brake or blinker lights. Third brake light doesn't work...

take a volt meter to the sockets and see if you get any voltage. if you don't, try a continuity test on the socket and see if there are any shorts, blown fuses are good indications of shorts. if you have no voltage and no shorts, you have cut wires somewhere along the lines. i'd say check your relays but if your not getting any voltage at all, it probably won't be relays. check it anyway
hope it helps

How to get my convertible redone for little or no money for a 1997 chevy cavalier

I would check e-Bay, you can usually find a replacement top, and they usually have installation directions to do it yourself.

My ABS light 1997 chevy cavalier just started

Probably just a dirty sensor or broken wire, but you should proably have your brakes checked to be safe.
