Loosen the bolt that is holding the adjuster of the alternator. loosen the belt by pulling it and the alternator would slide in. remove and replace the belt.

do the reverse on installation.

remember to tighten all bolts of the adjuster and alternator after tightening the belt.

Loosen the alternator bracket bolt to the side of the alternator. Then loosen the alternator tensioner bolt located under the alternator. It takes a lot of turning to get the belt loose, and afterward you will need to loosen it even more to get the new belt on.

How to test alternator is dead or not working? How to replace the alternator (step by step instruction) Is a rebuilt alternator good or do I need a brand new alternator (is all alternators sold are rebuilt...

you take the vehicle to an accredited auto electrician and have them check the charge circuit and battery
could be the alternator or voltage regulator or problem battery
have them check the drive belt condition and tension
if the units have been rebuilt by reputable electrical company, they are a cheaper alternative to brand new and should have a 6 months or 12 month warranty with them

Corolla AE100 RPM Counter

Check the alternator belt, see if it is too slack. Check the connections at the alternator. You may need to take it to an auto electrician, if its not the belt loose or connections, to check the alternator. Hope that helps
