I have the same problem and also they go off whenever I hit the brakes. So, when I turn on my turn signal they all blink, but when I hit the brake they all stop.

I have a similar problem with my 1999 jetta. Sometimes when i put the blinker on the light just stays on instead of flashing. I can't figure it out. Once, I pushed down harder on the blinker switch and it corrected itself.

I have a similar problem. When I use the blinker to signal a turn, the normal clicking noise starts but once I've turned and the switch goes back to neutral position, it continues to click in random intervals. I took it in once and they said it was the relay switch and replaced the hazard light button. It fixed it for about a year and now the problem is back. I've noticed it does it more often when cold outside. And sometimes I can turn up the radio volume and then turn it back down and it goes away momentarily. Any ideas?

Yeah, I have run it to this problem as well. I was on my way back from a trip and the blinker relay switch started working on its own. Having worked for SWF I thought it was the directional or signal switch that built up copper from contact to contact and causes it to come on and off....... I have not figured it out yet. I did replace the hazard switch which works together with the blinkers but this did not fix it. I did notice that this comes from the same manufacturer as the previous switch and it from a manufacturing date of 2005! So this issue has not been probably corrected yet. Yes it has come to light that the switch clicks more when cold as well! It is super irretating to me as well.... sorry cant turn up the radio on this one......... Honestly I think it is the copper traces inside the blinker switch itself that cause a contact and make the switch click............next I am going to replace the blinker switch! This should cast some $87 at the dealer...... replaced it on my other Jetta since the cruise control did not work. This is a rather more complicated type of job since the steering wheel needs to come off!!!!!!! Make sure you have the correct tool to remove the AIRBAG..... this should be a bend type of screw-driver the angle should be 90 degrees and with a shortened handle otherwise this airbag will not come loose! The rest should be straight forward as to replacing the switch! Good luck and if I find out more I will let you know.

The problem sounds like it is in the turn signal switch, not the relay. I have replaced hundreds of these.

I have a1997 Chevy 1500 and I am wondering were is the flasher relay at.

Most cars the flasher relays are up under the dash not far from the steering column. I had several makes of cars and they all were up there.

Have a 2007 ford f150 blinkers and 4 ways work fine untill headlights turned on then blinkers stay light but not blinking

Could be the turn singal relay not getting the correct power when lights engaged. Take out bulb from headlight and then turn on headlights. Now no power to the headlights. Try to turn on blinkers now. If they blink replace signal relay, if they still are solid it may be your flasher. Just a guess without looking. Thanks.

Turn signal

Sounds like you may have the wrong bulb installed causing feedback to both circuits

Turning signals not working all the time

Sounds like the blinker relay. Is the emergency flasher switch on the dash above the radio ? If it is the blinkers relay is the same as the emergency relay. If the blinkers stop working pound on the emergency lights switch and if they start working then replace the emergency lights relay switch cause the blinkers is on the same relay as the emergency lights. My 2001 Grand Am does the same and I just hit the emergency lights switch and they start working again.

Blinkers don't work: When I use my blinkers to

The right blinker issue sounds like you have one bulb out either front or rear check them both. The left blinker issue sounds like either bulbs(both out) or fuse, or worst case blinker switch has gone bad on left turn only so not picking up the signal.

99 VW Jetta

The turn signal relay is inside the hazard switch on the dash. Get a new one (about $30) and install that and you're cured:)
