After a good tune-up may other factors affect your gas mileage, tire pressure, acceleration, traffic conditions, driving habits, etc. The only thing you can do is make sure its well tuned, has regular oil changes, clean filers and drive like a 90 year old lady! Outside of that, think about getting a newer more fuel efficient car.
try changing fuel filter and making sure tire pressure is correct keep your car clean so air can flow freely and try an oil change all these factor into good gas mileage and you could try adding new plug wires to your tune up
www.fueleconomy.gov list the mileage for your vehicle at 29/19. I don't know what kind of mileage you have been getting, so I have nothing ot compare it to. You could be due for a tuneup, air filter and oil change. Scan the computer for trouble codes that may be stored in the computer and clear the codes. Keep your tires aired up to the max recommend pressure on the tire sidewall. All these things will improve fuel mileage. Great performance and mileageincrease. Cold weather can affect fuel mileage as the engine runs richer until it warms up. The gas at the service stations has a lot to do with fuel mileage. Especiallywhen they switch over from summer to winter formula. I got a boost in mileage and performance with a set of E3 spark plugs.
Driving habits...incorrect tire pressure...excessive weight in car...low oil/old oil. Many things affect mileage. My 2002 max needed a new O2 sensor. Once replaced the mileage improved slightly.
You can wait its just fine, However if you ever start to notice oil leaking from front cover, then you will need to change. If there is no loss in power feel sluggish especially on take off, Its almost impossible for these type of chains to break. So enjoy until the wheel fall off..lol. good luck
usualy it is 20 miles to the gallon and to improve your gas mileage i would do a tune up... spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. and add tune up in a can its only like $4.00 from autozone. and also replace your airfilter, add air to your tires like 35 psi. and clean your fuel system .
