My 95 geo prizm overheated today, so much it caused the overflow tank to melt and fall off! the overflow had a hole in it where it had been laid against the hot engine before, so could that have been the problem that caused it to overheat, or do i need to look into replacing my radiator? after it cooled off, it wouldnt start, even with a jump. i had to pop-start it with the clutch.

Better check out the motor. It may be damaged from the overheating to the extent that only popping the clutch will generate the torque to turn over and start the engine since the starter cannot overcome the new engine resistance.

And if that is the case any other remedy(ies) are not practical. Only if you can start it with your starter should you consider checking out the radiator, water pump, hoses, and every other part responsible for cooling the engine.

SOURCE: 95 geo prizm hamonic balancer belt pulley

Wow!!! I don't think I would put that much faith in gorilla glue. I had the same problem and had to replace the hb pully. My belt ended up slipping and jumped a few teeth causing the car to be badly out of time. Fix it before that happens.

you'll have to pull off the interior panel. window in the up position. on the lock cylinder there is a clip that you have to pull off and an arm that actuates the lock. pop the lock out. reverse to install.

SOURCE: geo prizm 95' engine light on - code 24 - air intake temp. sensor has no power

use an electrical tester with a sharp point tip, and poke through the coating into the wire at every 5".

this is the best wat to test the wiring.

I have a 95 geo prizm 1.6 l engine I found out that my downstream oxygen sensor before I bought it some one had cut the wires and spliced them with what I think is a vacuum cleaner cord and the wires r...

If you understand what is going on under your hood.. the wires being spliced May not be your problem. Check that they are not bare if they are then fix it. The problem may be a dirty intake due to the engine overloading all the time. When it's cold it runs good since that's what the choke does. Take your air filter off and follow the tubing to the aluminum intake. Clean that out very good with a rag full of carburetor cleaner.

Yes a harmanic balancer from tha corolla is the same thing. I had to do the same thing with my 95 geo. It works out to be a lot cheaper buying for a toyota than a geo.

It's probably a blinker relay. If you can find one, it'll probably be remanufactured or from a junkyard. Take it to the mechanic.
