I stopped at a stoplight and when i hit the gas to go again the car started jerking like it was out of gas but i have a half of tank. it continued to do that on and off til i got home. now the car won't start at all.
thank you for the help but i can't get the car to start so i can do that. do have any suggestions for this problem? i was told that there is an exhaust leak before but that that problem would only affect my gas mileage. it was suggested to me that the starter or fuel pump probably caused my car to **** like that and eventually caused it to not be able to start. is this a possibilty? thank you again.thank you for the help but i can't get the car to start so i can do that. do have any suggestions for this problem? i was told that there is an exhaust leak before but that that problem would only affect my gas mileage. it was suggested to me that the starter or fuel pump probably caused my car to **** like that and eventually caused it to not be able to start. is this a possibilty? thank you again.

Vheck the 4 wire connector to the mass air flow sensor and wiggle them while the car is running. This is a common problem with nissans. Also check the air intake boot from the air filter housing to the engine for a hole in it. Either one of these could cause a bucking when trying to accelerate. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a gas tank full of crud. Check gas filter to see if it is dirty. Also water in gas will clog gas tank filter then when car stops water will disburse and collect when engine starts again.
The problem could be a clogged air vent in the gas cap, causing a vacuum in the gas tank . The next time this happens, loosen the gas cap and see if the problem goes away. If so, replace the gas cap.
see the diagrams and proceed with common sense. Reset the ignition timing to the specification manufacterur +gap reset to the s. manufacturer Very Important God bless you
sounds like your not getting enough gas try first determining iif your getting enough fuel from the gas tank to the engine and if not you might half to replace the pump because the fuel filter is part of the pump by you might be able to find just the filter somewhere, but if thats not the case then check your injectors there could be one the is misfiring or clogged so try also during a good fuel system clean on it
It sounds like the vacuum line has a hole if you stop at the light and you have to hold the gas down a little to keep it going that is one problem it could be.
how can i check for codes w/o the check engine light being on?

While you are in there test the fuel pressure.
