1989 corvette starts good runs rough and will not accellerate. When you hit the throttle, it acts like it is not getting fuel. Replaced the fuel filter, did a check on the fuel pump with a gauge and it is right around 40 psi at idle. As soon as I advance the throttle the pressure goes up a little but it seems as though the engine just starts starving. No codes on the ECM (PAPERCLIP METHOD). Also changed the cap and rotor

SOURCE: 95 Chevy C-1500 runs rough at idle and during accelleration

Check the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator and check to see if the fuel pressure regulator has gone bad. Give the throttle body a good cleaning and the injectors too. Do not use carb cleaner, it's to corrosive for the gaskets used in the throttle body. The other thing too that would cause this is a stuck or bad EGR valve, Try cleaning the EGR valve too since your cleaning the throttle body. Good luck and keep me posted.

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

Check your fuel pressure it should be 40-47 with the key and engine off and 30-44 with engine running. If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump and filter.
