The front pulley to the alternator is solid. It's not slipping. The back pulley to the steering pump is also solid. Its just the a/c pulley that spins freely. ?

I put a new belt on my MAH5500BWW and the new belt slips off after one or two turns. Ideas

With the belt off, put a wrench on each thing the belt turns. You should even be able to turn the crankshaft slowly, with some effort. Check for play or excessive resistance on the pulleys. An idler or tensioner pulley should spin freely, not wobble, and make very little noise when spinning, like a fidgit spinner, or a scateboard wheel. Some effort will be needed for an AC compressor, less for the alternator, but as long as you don't hear metal to metal scraping, you should be fine.

Where is compressor clutch located?

It is turned by (usually) the main serpentine belt. When the AC is not in use the clutch spins freely. When the AC "kicks" in what is really happening is the clutch in the compressor is locking up and the belt makes the pulley turn, compressing the freon.

Replace drive belt 98 lumina w/o fixing a/c compressor?

Yes as long as the a/c pulley spins freely. You should be able to spin all pulleys by hand, except for crank pulley

The serpentine belt on my 1984 Buick Lesabre keeps breaking when turn on air conditioner or heater why?

Most likely you have a seized AC compressor. When you ask for AC or heat the AC clutch engages with the pulley wheel that normally spins freely when the AC is off. As the pulley wheel is no longer able to turn because of the seized compressor the belt will either slip or snap.

My 97 Acura 3.2 TL starts to overheat and I also notice that the air gets cold when the heater is on. But when I begin to drive after stopping, the temp. goes back to normal and the air gets back hot...

Possible thermostat but more likely fan belt is slipping when idling causing waterpump to slow or even stop spinning. Tighten or replace fan belt that runs over waterpump pulley

Crankshaft pulley slows down when a/c engaged.

It is the harmonic balancer, ie. pulley. It is a two piece--with rubber between the two. It will, especially if belt dressing or other lubricant has penetrated it, slip. I just ordered a new one online for $70. It is a fairly common problem.

Serpentine belt slips off idler pulley

The A/C pully is supposed to spin freely until the AC is activated to run.. The cranshaft pully does not. Replace the tensioner pully. The belt has to fit in between the grooves on the pullys.

Serpentine belt

The pulley's aren't supposed to spin freely with the belt on. The belt connects all the pully's to the crankshaft, which does not spin freely because it is attached to the pistons inside the engine. To turn the pulleys, you have to turn the crankshaft, which in turn moves the pistons inside the engine up and down.
