I have a 2001 Pontiac grandam. 2.4L 4 cylinder. It will not stay started. If you start it, it will start but while in park if you rev up the engine when it idles down it shuts off. Please help. All ideas...

I had a 01 grand prix GT, with very similar problem. I processed by way of eliminating the fuel pump, ignition module, catalytic convertor to determine it was 2 bad o2 sensors that didn't register on diagnostics. Hope this might be helpful, and good luck.

Engine idles high...in excess of 1200 rpm...replaced the inlet air control valve...did not fix the problem...any other ideas? vacuum line problem?

Have you had the idle sensor checked? I had a 92 Grand Am that was doing the same thing. The mechanic checked it (after the wreck) and turns out that was causing the engine to idle high.
