There are 4 of them. One on each wheel. Look for a cable that attaches to the axle hard case and has a bolt looking sensor that pokes through the hardware to a ring looking device on the axle. The problem is that you have to calibrate it with a feeler gauge to get the gap right. So before you remove the old one, get the feeler gauge out and see how close the head of the sensor is to the ring so you know how close to put the new one.
Traction control and ABS are parts of the same system. The airbag light may have come on for an intermittent problem. The wheel speed sensor is located at the wheel. You can follow its electrical wire to its location. There is the brake fluid hose and the speed sensor wire going to the wheel. The wire is more flexalbe.

Thank you for the solution eyecue, I have a couple questions, Do I need to remove the tire/wheel before looking for or replacing the wheel speed sensor? Also, If I choose to do this can I get this part from an auto parts store? ie; Auto Zone, Auto Palace, etc. or do I need to get it from the Ford dealer?
no need to remove it... and yes you can buy it in those shops
I'd like to thank evryone who responded to my post. Due to very high gas prices & repair costs, I decided to trade in my 2002 Lincoln LS in Sept. 2011 for a 2012 Ford Fusion.
