2009 jeep patriot, my esp, 4wd!, bas lights are malfunctioning, is there a solution? Dealership wants to charge me a $1000.00 to fix.

Sep 29, 2014 - I just took my 2008 Jeep Patriot in the dealership TODAY for this. The lights ... no engine codes. the lights will shut off then come back on ... I have the same problem on my 2009 Jeep Patriot (dashboard lights are on for ABS, ESC). ... At first I wasn't going to repair it since car will still run and ouch! ... dpalos on July 02, 2016. As with ALL warning lights, the first step is getting the trouble codes read.

I have the same problem on a 2009 Jeep Compass. I suspect a wheel speed sensor and when the weather gets better I'll check it out. I know if I take it in for service it will cost me a fortune for a simple problem. It's amazing the things they can find.
A couple years ago I took my Compass to Sears for service. I think it was for brake pads, shocks and a few small items. When I finally got the car back the bill was for $2500. What a shock.

this could be just a loose abs sensor.

The lights are being turned on by your BCM or Body Control Module. It's located under the driver's side knee bolster, but it will probably have to be taken to the Dealership to hook up their DRB III to ascertain as to why the BCM is turning on all of your lights.

Check under drivers door sill step. There is a spice I believe the wires are red or pink in color. The splice will be wrapped in black hockey tape looking stuff. Peel the the hockey tape stuff off and you will find that this splice is corroded and not making contact anymore. You can repair this splice and your problems will be fixed. Be sure to use some good heat shrink on your repair to prevent from happening again.
