These mega-expensive ABC repairs are nightmares! I've seen repair bills get as high as $22k! Do yourself a HUGE favor and get away from the ABC forever with a Active Body Control Conversion

ABC means "Active Body Control" system. You need to access the ABC ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) memored. Then you will be full informed about bad components, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces. Then you will be able to erase all DTC from ABC ECU memory and reset the ABC ECU. Therefore the ABC light will turn OFF, and the car will running fine.
Before you can check this:
Common areas are behind the front left tire in the wheel well and also there are 2 hoses that run under the car, around the front axle area, and also in front of the radiator there might be some lines. I have seen all of them blow out on occasion. The ABC pump itself goes bad too. Also there are valve blocks one for each axle and they go bad or get clogged up. Check the level with the larger of the 2 sticks in the reservoir there are 2 marks on it in german. The lower mark is with the car running, and the top mark is car off. There is a filter, its in the reservoir that you check the level in. It's the large screw off cap there is a filter on there. But changing and flushing is usually done with the Mercedes Benz computer so the car can dip and roll manuever they call rodeo that will actuate all 4 struts in a circular motion to bleed out the lines and stuts of debris and old oil. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself cause the pump could run dry and you could also get air in the system. It's really hard to say what the problem is. The dealer might recommend flushing the whole system and putting on a new filter to start. But I have replaced many valve blocks and pumps too. You might have no choice but the dealer.
See one similar case only as an example:
Mercedes CL 500 2001 ABC fault, all started when the car was left for 1 month without being started the battery went flat, no problem prior to this event.
ABC white light "visit workshop" this has been appearing for sometime after the flat battery but would disappear.
Car holds level and height overnight.
The red ABC warning has started appearing this last few days the suspension gets bouncy and raise lower switch inoperative.

SOURCE: cold start valve problem
if you have an electric cold start valve make sure to unplug it and if keeps apling fuel with electrical conector unpluged that means the valve is not good, but if not then you have an electronic problem, possible a bad cold start sensor or cold start module or cicuit problem, and might be a time to take it to an electrical shop
