Need help with 2004 Ford Expedition 5.4L heater hose diagram or how the hoses go coming out from the two outlets located on the wall coming from inside dash. The hoses were detached from the outlets coming...

The 2 pipes that are coming through the firewall is your heater core. Simply put one hose on and the other hose to the other pipe. You can run water through the heater core either way. After you install the hoses, put a hose clamp on each one so the hoses don't fall off the pipes.

Test heater core

Robert,
Using a cooling system pressure test tool to pressurize the entire cooling system, a heater core will leak into the HVAC [heater, ventilation and air conditioning] box [located under the dash board]. Once coolant leaks into this box, it will either drop onto the carpeting on the passenger side front floor OR drip out the condensate tube [where the A/C condensate water leaks out under the truck] The condensate tube is a rubber pipe located on the lower end of the passenger side firewall.
Leakage into the passenger carpet [most common place for it to leak] will appear as a wet carpet.
If heater core replacement is required, do yourself a favor. Buy and install a new A/C evaporator [located in the HVAC box with the heater core] at the same time. This is a big job to do. No sense replacing the heater core now, only to have the A/C evaporator fail next summer, forcing you to repeat all that labor [8 hours for a pro mechanic who knows what he is doing].

Heater coil on a 1999 ford expedition how hard is it to change out?

Inspect/Replace If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

Heater cord ford expedition 01 5.7liter where is it located and how hard is it to change?

Dear Heater Core Hunter,
For your 01 expedition, that has the 5.4 liter motor in it, the heater core is located in the evaporator case assembly, where the blowermotor itself is located,This is a pretty darn good labor intensive job, if you open the passenger front door and get down onyour knees and look up underneath the dash.....that's what you're going to be removing and replacing, the heater core is inside of this black case. Please get back to me if you have any more questions...I'M HERE TO HELP!!!

Step by step replacing heater core in 1999 escort removel 1998 ford escort heater core i have every thing unhooked evering under dash dash unhookrd and all bolts remover the heater box wont come out

If bolts won't come out and you've taken the nuts off, Then they are stiuds.Locate the heater hoses where they enter the firewall. The heater core is right on the other side of firewall. Which you probably already know. Good luck
