How to remove and replace my ignition switch from my buick century 99

Do you mean the lock and tumbler or the switch. The lock and tumbler is a part in the upper portion of the column and shall require a couple of special tools. If is the switch, it is located on top of the column.

Good Luck

2000 buick century ignition stuck on

Hi David I'm glad to help!

David I've found from time to time an Ignition switch will stick because the tumblers freeze. If you in fact have a tumbler and key set-up here a way that usually works but not always. Remove the key an spray lubricant into the key hole, then replace the key and using a small hammer tap on the end of the key while turning it off. Once you get it to move you'll need to replace the tumbler and housing assembly. NOTE: If you have a WIN Module set-up then remove the negative battery cable for 20 seconds then reconnect it and see if it works properly. This is only if you have the Module and key set-up, this has nothing to do with the key and tumbler. Hope this helps and have an awesome day David.

My 1988 Buick LeSabre runs great ! Now the key will not turn off. The key is in the on position. I removed the battery cable to turn the car off. now how do I fix the ignition?

You need to replace the ignition tumbler, which is the piece the key goes in. You have to remove the steering wheel, lock plate, turn signal switch, and the key in buzzer contact. This contact piece will be very difficult to remove because the key actually gets in the way internally. This piece is a yellowish square plastic piece with two copper contact straps protruding from it. Beneath this piece is a t20 torx screw/pin. Remove this screw/pin and the tumbler slides right out. Install in reverse order.

The tumblers are made of brass and do bind and break in time. The steering wheel has to be removed to replace this lock cylinder

1988 buick century headlights

To change the low beam headlight on the 2001 Lesabre, the headlight assembly must first be removed from the car. It is really quite simple to do. There are two bolts on the top of the assembly that must be removed - that is all! The entire assembly comes out and gives easy access to the low beam bulb. Give it a 1/4 counterclockwise turn to remove it. Plus in the new one (#9006) and reverse the procedure.
