Is this car an automatic transmission? if it is then you will need to check the gear selector switch on the transmission. I have seen one that would not properly engage for the park/neutral and reverse switches to function but the car was still drivable.

I have 1997 chevy c1500. The brake lights work. The reverse lights don't work. I replaced the bulbs, not the problem. I checked the fuse, not the problem. What else can I do to fix this problem??

Do you have power coming out of the reverse circuit on the neutral safety switch ? Or the reverse switch if the truck has a manual trans ?

1997 Subaru Impreza Tail lights work but brake lights don't even though the Hatch brake light is working

Hi,
So, both sides are not working? Check for voltage @ the brake light bulb to see if you're getting power. Also, look in the fuses.

check out the online Subaru forums, too.

The reverse light no warking

Check fuses. Didn't fully understand the Question so if your saying that the brake light comes on but the reverse light does not. If it is in the same spot then it would be a 2 part bulb and one filament has burned out so the bulb still needs replaced. If it not the bulb then check fuses. One of those will most likely be your problem. good luck.

Rear brake light aren't working subaru legacy 2004

Check the bulbs, if they are OK you may have a faulty brake light switch.

Hello, i have a 1997 subaru outback sport wagon and the brake lights do not work. the running tailights work. where do i start if its not the bulbs?

Check fuses and then try the brake light switch on the pedal... it should look like below:

You can unplug the switch and close the circuit of the wiring harness with a little pigtail of scrap wire and if the brake lights then work it's the switch.

best wishes!
