How do i install a intake manifold runner control on a ford f-150 2005 4.2

First make sure the vacuum runner control motor has vacuum at the runner control vacuum control solenoid. Attach a vacuum pump to the runner control vacuum motor (located in upper intake manifold) and verify it open's and closes properly.

Where can I get a diagram of the intake manifold runner control?

Do a Web search under the terms (Your make, model, year vehicle) intake manifold runner. Or intake runner control solenoids, rods, etc. You may find Youtube videos.

The runners are sandwiched under or inside the intake manifold. Some had plastic clips which crumbled and the operating rods became disconnected. Some runners stuck too bad for the rods to move them.

When you have an extremely high idle and code p2008 shows up what could the problem be

Without knowing what car you have it gets difficult to be specific, however since usually p2008 is dealing with intake manifold runner control, and you have a high idle...Id say you may possibly have a loose or broken vacuum hose to runner control...with the vacuum off the runners cant be regulated...and the air leaking in through the bad/open hose will raise idle. check vacuum hoses and runner linikage

Ford F140 4.2 Do Engine codes P0305, P0306, and P1518 relate to each other

I am assuming you mean F150 truck.
The answer is maybe.
Code 305 and 306 are missfire codes for cylinders 5 and 6.
Code 1518 is for a problem with the intake manifold runner control which could cause the other two codes.

P1518 FORD Description The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is monitored for failure during continuous or key ON engine OFF self-test.
Possible causes - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) harness is open or shorted
- Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) actuator
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Check engine light on, Code P 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5

I can tell you what it is and about where it is, but I have not worked on that engine before.

The intake runner should be between the intake manifold and the cylinder head. It is like a sliding shutter. You can sometimes clean them, but they can be replaced. Look online for photos by autoparts stores. This will explain things better if you see it.

Why they put them on cars? The operating range for intake manifolds is limited. Manifolds are shaped for performance or economy. With movable shutters inside the manifold you get a manifold that will do both jobs.

How are they activated? Most use Vacuum controls to move rods that move the vanes or shutters in the runner. In your case, the manifold runner activated and is stuck open. Now you can look at whether the control rod popped off or the activating Vacuum diaphram is jammed. But most use Vacuum power to open and flow to close them.

Your Maker is not alone in using these devices. Other makers have similar problems with their operation. Sometimes soot can build up and they fail to move.

I hope my solution is useful.
