My car won't start. Clicking sound when it tries to start. RPMs and MPHs go way up then drop

    Hi,
    I have the same problem as mjscougar... car won't start, replaced the starter, the battery, I've checked the cables, relays, fuses... When I pulled the old starter I had it tested and there was no problem with the original starter. Anyone have any ideas that I haven't tried yet???? or is it possible that there might be a sensor issue somewhere???

There is a fuse between the battery and the altinator.. try checking that. its under the intake manifold about top center of the car.

Car won't start. I have replaced the starter/solenoid still won't start. Battery is new, and terminals are clean. why won't it start?

Sounds like your starter or starter solenoid is bad. also possible low battery.

Could be a bad engine ground connection. There should be a cable connected between the engine block and the frame. If this is loose, it could cause intermittent failure of your ignition and your starter to operate properly.

Honda Accord check engine flashes when tapping brakes
Engine light flashing along with the drop on RPMs is indicative of misfires. Connect a scan tool and see if any codes are stored this may give you a starting point. As for the clicking I'm not sure that it is related to the engine light but clicking when braking may be due to worn suspension/steering parts such as control arm bushings

Check for fuses under the dash. Sounds like you need to replace the Instrument Panel fuse

How do you remove transmission fluid pump 97 taurus 3.0 liter
Transmission pump is inside the transmission, not under the pan. You should check your sensor pack and transmission control module about next. Trans shop can check it out for you, since this sounds like the tranny is in limp mode.
