the iac sensor is along the side of throttle body , did you give the throttle plate area a good cleaning out this is where the air path is for the IAC sensor , a lot of idle problems have been fixed with a can of throttle body cleaner and few good squirts of the stuff down the hole
Check for vacuum leaks, most common is on PVC valve hoses
Your IAC is mounted on top of intake with 2 8mm bolts
Take out and clean out carbon from both sides
Also can throttle body at same time
It will start hard and run rough for a minute, just let it idle through
After 30 secs, snap throttle and see where idle rests
idling controller sir .
The idle air control motor is just beneath the throttle housing and is controlled by the fuel injection computer.Things that can cause a rough idle and stalling can be vacuum leaks
The problem you describe could be result of a dirty of defective Idle Air Control (IAC) sensor/motor. This sensor is located on your vehicles, throttle body. The purpose of this sensor is to control the car's idle under various operating conditions including ambient temperature. In order for it to function correctly, the internal components must be clean (meaning, little or no carbon build up) and it must be undamaged. Sometimes the IAC can be cleaned; however, if this cleaning procedure is not properly done, the IAC can become damaged. This sensor is also sometimes called the "Cold Start" sensor and is located on your Throttle Body (easy to ckean and replace). A new IAC will cost $50-$100. My guess is your IAC needs to be cleaned or replaced. Good Luck! The FixYa Team.
Have the trailblazer scanned for any DTC codes. Its sounds like you may have the TCC apply solenoid circuit shorted to ground, TCC solenoid blockage
(easy fix in pan), or TC broken (must remove trans and replace TC). If your lucky it's just a dirty Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and can be cleaned with throttle body cleaner. Buy a can of throttle body cleaner and follow the instructions on the the can, make sure it's throttle body and not Carburetor cleaner. Carburetor cleaner is too corrosive to the gaskets used in the throttle body and pay attention to the IAC passage way in the throttle body. Good luck and keep me posted, and most transmission shop will scan the transmission for DTC codes free of charge for there test drive programs.
It may be a dirty air cleaner or a dirty Idle Airflow Valve . The IAC can be cleaned by taking off the duct work that goes from the air assembly to the fuel injector hole. The valve is to one of the sides of the hole just inside. You will see two small holes. Buy some card cleaner and with your engine running at about 1300 rpm spray the cleaner directly into these holes. Spray for a good 10 seconds. Stop the engine and let the cleaner soak in. Repeat this about 4 times. If it still idles rough it may be the Idle position sensor or you have to replace the IAC.
The ck engine light should not be ignored, what sensor was shown to be bad ? Have it scanned again and replace the sensor that is bad if it still runs rough you might want to consider a tune up. Plugs, wires, fuel and air filter's and clean the throttle body with some gumout. It could also be the IAC motor Idle Air Control. Good Luck
