You need to find the shift lock override. There is usually a small plastic cover or hole somewhere near the shifter. Remove the cover and insert a thin screwdriver into the hole, depressing the lock override, while shifting it out of park. If this works then the soleniod at the shifter or the switch at the brake pedal is bad. Yes the vehicle will start in Nuetral.

Why wont it let me shift my 1995 tracker

Do you mean when you have the clutch depressed, presuming it's a manual trans? If so, your clutch could have worn out or your pressure plate could have blown one of its springs so that disengagement isn't occurring. Can you shift gears when the engine is off? If so then that's likely the cause.

Why is the gear shift stuck in park on 1991 geo tracker

Most likely something to do with the safety interlock between the brake and the shifter. I am not sure what year they started with this freature. (My 1989 does not have it, but my 1994 does.) You need electrical power for this interlock to work but there is a by-pass. There should be a small panel with one screw on the driver's side of the console. Under it is a lever to unlatch the gear shift allowing it to be taken out of park.

My 1995 Geo Tracker stuck in park

Try replacing your brake light switch that is located at the top of the brake pedal arm. It might work if you wiggle or shake the switch but most likely you will have to replace the switch. good luck leave comment.

Trans is stuck in park and trans is full of fluid

If the shifter moves check under the hood at the trans and see if the cable is movung when you move the shifter. Sounds as if the shift cable broke and needs replaced. If nothing moves under the hood, have someone hold their foot on the brake and shift the trans from under the hood, if it shifts then you know for sure the cable is bad.
