Hyundai sonata cutting out while driving

1999 model, it cuts out once per trip, always at low speed pressing on the accelerator, I hear the electrics go off and oil+battery light on dash just like when starting, it sometimes comes back to life after a second while coasting but if not then it takes a few minutes to restart when stationary.

I've replaced spark plugs but theres no change. There was a transmission fluid leak at the same time this started happening but that was fixed and the cut out problem still happens. TIA

2000 hyundia sonata has no power even after totally gone through. nobody can seem to tell me what the problem is without spending mega bucks. everyone wants to do a diagnostic to it but so far that hasnt helped at all. any idea?

I was driving at 80km and the car just shut down, all dash lights were flashing, power steering had gone and I coasted to the side of road. I then switched car off and restarted it fine, about 2km it did it again but with out shutting down completely and I was able to drive home normally. Bit worried to drive it now though!

I had the same problem with my 2000 Sonata a couple of years ago. It was the crank sensor and once replaced, it solved the problem.

I had this happen to mine twice. Once when I first bought the car in 2002 and after several trips to the dealer they replaced the crank shaft position sensor. Earlier this year I had it happen again and I replaced the same thing and it solved my problem.

I have the same problem with my 95 hyundai sonta, and I asked my mechanic what could be the cause and he said it could be the air intake. You will see a group of i think about 10 little hoses all together and to check to see if there is an air leak in those, it could be that and be solved with a few dollars spent on some new hoses, that you could do yourself.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS I'm driving on the freeway the car cut off. The aux power stayed on but when I tried to start the car it kept acting like it wanted to start but it wouldn't turn over.

take it to a dealership this car has a recall to check the engine for noise and replacement is does not pass the process tests it is campaign 132 per Hyundai if it has been performed and passed Hyundai will still check engine issues and make possible goodwill repairs BUT this is speculation until know problem with engine/car has been diagnosed

Just bought a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. I noticed after I cut the car off, there's a ticking noise under the car. What is that?

this being a new car probably with very low mileage the noise you hear is more than likely the exhaust cooling off after getting hot from driving.it will stop doing this after a while when it gets driven more.some cars do this as it gets broke in from driving.

1999 GLE Sonata 5 speed manual, intermittent engine stalling. Nothing has been recorded with car computer system.

I just bought a 1999 Sonata "as is" and had the same problem bringing it home. The previous owner said it was a fuel filter or pump problem, but I found this online regarding recalls on this model:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SOME SONATA VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 2.5 LITER V-6 ENGINES AND ALL ELANTRA MODEL VEHICLES MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT LOW-SPEED ENGINE STALLING, WHICH COULD OCCUR IF THE MAF (MASS AIR FLOW) SENSOR ELECTRICAL SIGNAL IS INTERRUPTED AS A RESULT OF ENGINE VIBRATION TRANSMITTED TO THE MAF SENSOR CONNECTOR WIRING HARNESS.
You might want to ask your mechanic to check this out.

Engine cut off while driving 2004 Hyundai Sonata.

BEST SOLUTION: Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

3rd gear help please!

I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata and I had the same problem. But mine would always shift into 3rd gear and STAY there until I turned the car off. I took it to a Hyundai dealer and he had to rewire a speed sensor on top of the transmission. Apparently a little animal got up in that tight little spot and gnawed on my sensor wires. The car has run fine since. To make a long story short, it might be your speed sensor on your transmission.

2001 hyundai sonata 2.4 dohc, cylinder 3 misfire code

tried testing the igniter also i would look into the injector, that will cause a single cylinder misfire and probably is your problem?misfires are not noticeable at higher speeds, which im sure you know but i would go that route, could have a pinched injector or a stuck one. one easy way to test is swap 3rd injector with another and see if that one starts misfiring instead, another rought is to get a cheap auto stethoscope and put it to each injector to hear if its opening and closing, compare with others. good luck.
